Feel free to adjust the quantities of the ingredients as your tastebuds desire!
Ingredients:
1 Camembert cheese (a Brie also works)
1 tablespoon of Branch Creek Honey Honeycomb (you can also use our Raw or Creamed honey if you prefer your cheese without the beeswax)
OPTIONAL:
1-2 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced (optional)
Fresh Rosemary sprigs (optional)
1 tablespoon Olive Oil (optional)
Freshly ground Black Pepper (optional)
TO SERVE:
Fresh baguette, crusty bread or pita bread for serving
Method:
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Unwrap the Camembert and place it back in its wooden box (if it came in one) or place it on a small baking dish. If using a box, make sure you remove any plastic wrapping.
Score the top of the cheese in a crisscross pattern with a knife.
If using Garlic and Rosemary then pop the garlic slices into the scores on the top of the cheese and tuck a few sprigs of Rosemary into the scores as well.
Drizzle the Olive Oil over the top of the cheese. Season with freshly ground black pepper. These steps are optional but are a delicious addition of flavour, especially if you can source a local, small batch Olive oil.
Place the cheese in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and gooey inside.
Remove the cheese from the oven and top with Branch Creek Honey Honeycomb. The warmth of the cheese will slightly melt the honeycomb.
Serve the baked Camembert with your choice of bread for dipping.
Enjoy your rich and sweet baked Camembert with the added touch of our Honeycomb! This takes a simple cheese platter to the next level!
